To develop an influencer strategy to implement the innovation plan that I intend to use to bring about change in my organization, I addressed the results I wanted to achieve, the vital behaviors I am trying to change which included networking actively and painting a vision for my organization, and my organizational influencers. To ensure the success of my innovation plan, I need to influence my behaviors in the right direction. I will use the six sources of influence that I will evaluate to ensure they help me get the desired outcome and meet my performance expectations in the organization. The six sources of influence include personal motivation, personal ability, social motivation, social ability, structural motivation, and structural ability (Grenny et al., n.d.). The main result I want to achieve is to build a culture for blended learning in the classrooms with my employees being the main organizational influencers.
Under personal motivation, I will evaluate my main reason for the innovation plan to reflect on what educators have in common: the desire to help students achieve their goals. I used four key strategies to identify the behaviors to change which included looking for crucial moments, learning from positive deviants, noticing the obvious, and spotting culture buster. I will measure the results by collecting feedback from the members to assess the overall performance of the organization. My main goal will be to make the impossible possible to motivate everybody.
Under personal ability, I will ensure I am available for the training sessions and that professional development is offered to the staff on how to go about creating a culture for blended learning in the classroom. The educational technology coaches will provide guidance and observation in the classrooms, thus ensuring efficiency. I will also put various measures such as picking a venue and time convenient for all team members to ensure that the training is successful as everyone will participate. If any member may fail to make it for the physical training, virtual lessons will go alongside to ensure no one is left behind. My main goal will be to overcome the challenges and limitations in the training and certification stage.
For social motivation, I will identify lead teachers who will assist in building the culture. I will also provide a platform for my team to share their experiences of how their overall performance improved after training (Perez, 2021). Enough resources will be available to facilitate training. The primary outcome I will expect from this is to contain the power of peer pressure to create the need for training.
Under social ability, I will facilitate sessions whereby early adopters will converge to share the successes and challenges they may have encountered. Further, a committee to see how the organization is run will be formed, and the contacts for the organization will be easily accessible for easier networking. My main aim will be to work with people who can motivate and provide information and resources to sustain the organization.
For structural motivation, awards will be offered to the teachers for the successful creation of a culture for blended learning in the classroom, and the successful transition highlighted on the organization’s website. The main goal will be to award rewards and seek accountability that aligns well with the organization’s goals. Under structural ability, I will ensure that the work environment is friendly and accommodates everyone. Feedback will be collected regularly to assess the program’s progress and make the necessary adjustments. Meetings with the administration will be held periodically to manage the school rollout.
In conclusion, I believe that building a culture for blended learning in the classrooms while using the six sources of influence will enable me to produce the organizational performance results I desire. Ongoing assessment will help to ensure I stay on course and the smooth running of the organization. Achieving all the six sources of influence may be challenging, but I am determined to pull through this and establish a successful organization.
