My journey as a Digital learner and leader

In this final course I was able to reflect on all my learning and how it all comes together. This course has taught me how to reflect on what I learned throughout this program. Blended Learning has always been my focus since I started this EDLD program. My students are very important to me and I know that as a teacher I need to use any available learning methods and tools to give them the best education possible. As part of this course, I have written a COVA reflection to illustrate the importance of adopting COVA and CSLE approaches and how the approach has enabled me, as the tutor, to create a significant learning environment. I also discuss how adopting COVA and CSLE approaches changed my learning philosophy and the challenges I faced with the COVA and CSLE approaches.

In addition to the COVA reflection, I also discuss my experience with my journey on developing and designing my innovation plan. Deciding to build a blended learning classroom model for teachers and myself to use was an easy decision as the semester before starting the DLL (Digital Learning and Leading) program with Lamar University. The program helped me understand and learn in-depth knowledge of blended learning in current classrooms and ways to improve myself and my initial innovation plan.

My last assignment in this course was to put it altogether. I designed a visual representation of my ADL journey. This book represent some of the things I took away from the program, how I grew, what affected me, who helped me or motivated me. It is a list of things that illustrates my journey throughout the program.

                          EDLD 5302Concepts of Educational Technology focused on Information Communication                                              Technology (ICT) improves teaching and learning so that students are equipped to be successful                                  in the digital age. Our thoughts on growth mindset and learning manifesto were birthed. I wrote a                                  paper that focused on developing a plan that introduces the fundamental ideas presented by Dr.                                  Dweck as I support and develop a growth mindset in me and others within the organization.

EDLD 5303 – Applying Education Tech helped me build out my portfolio so I can import all the materials I learned throughout the program. 

 

EDLD 5304Leading Organizational Change called for students to pursue collaboration

with fellow colleagues with the goal of influencing others to join in your vision.  

What’s Your Why, 4DX, and Influencer Strategy were all key components required to

connect the heart of others so the mind would follow. The course also taught me how

to develop a 4DX plan which enables organizations to close implementation issues.

Blended learning is the goal for our classrooms, so as I get my organization on board,

I need to use crucial conversation strategies and be a self-differentiated leader. This course has taught me how to be a change agent in my organization with the material I have learned. ​

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

EDLD 5305Disruptive Innovation in Education allowed students develop an innovation plan and write a literature review. This course challenged me to abandon traditional teaching ideals and think  outside the box.                                                       

 

 

 

 

 

EDLD 5313Create Significant Learning Environments (CSLE) was about generating student-centered learning environments. Engaging learning through technology through the COVA approach and UbD design, and aligning outcomes, assessment, and activities allows the student to become active contributors in their learning. I learned focusing on learning and creating significant learning environments influenced my Innovation Plan because I work with my peers and administrators. My revised growth mindset has taught me that it's okay to have some downfalls but never stop trying.

                                                  EDLD 5389 Develop Effective Prof Learning course prepares educators to connect                                                            and communicate your ideas through a call to action. Professional learning equips                                                                teachers to continue improving their teaching skills and learn present-day skills that will                                                      keep them relevant to the field of education. I developed a professional learning (PL)                                                             course. It was created so my fellow k- 6th-grade teachers can learn how to use blended                                                     learning models in their classrooms and provide their students with ample resources                                                           online to be successful.

EDLD 5317Resources Digital Learning Environment is where we were introduced that  technology is an effective tool if utilized correctly. Digital innovation without thought can lead to ineffective results. This course explored ICT employed in the local and global context. This course has taught me how to write an article for publication in the education field.                          

 

 

EDLD 5315Assessing Digital Learning and Instruction teaches us

that data is an important element in education. Without data, it is

difficult to make the best decisions for your teachers and students.

Conclusions constructed on sound evidence improves effectiveness

of learning needs for students. My Action Research Study

broaden my qualitative and quantitative research skills as it

relates to education.  This course has shown me how to be a

professional in education who can research information to support my innovation plan.

 


EDLD 5318Instructional Design in Online Learning

is a prerequisite to becoming a member of the educational technology

community. It necessary to design instruction that enhances teaching

and curriculum for educators in the classroom. Designing is

foundational to creating significant learning environments.  

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

EDLD 5320 Synthesis of Digital Learning and Leadership is the conclusion to the Digital Learning and Leading M.Ed. journey. Each course is a vital road required to becoming an effective digital leader. The capstone allows you to look back at what you’ve accomplish during the program. More significantly, it forces you to look forward to what’s next.  

As I reflect watching the video of all the educational material I have complied over the past 2 years, I am optimistically confident that this DLL program has equipped me with the tools I need to be successful in the next phase of my life.
